I got both endings. This was a nice and short little game!

This was a very fun, well-conceived and polished game! I really loved the ambience and the way the story is set up - like going to the afterlife is a long commute after a hard day's work. The artwork was gorgeous, with a stylish color palette that really suited the "twilight/city at night" aesthetic, and I loved the way that the background rolled past. The rendering on the sprite was very good as well, and the BGM was well-chosen to fit the atmosphere!

SLIGHT SPOILERS

The story was really cleverly set up, and I loved the premise and the twist. I appreciate that you actually choose your ending in just one singular choice - whether you wish to disappear because of your crimes, or whether you wish Jianyu to disappear. I think it really makes the choice much more impactful and meaningful - whether, ultimately, you choose to redeem yourself or to save the person that you wronged.

It's interesting that, either way - Jianyu doesn't get angry at you - it seems like he has also wronged people in the past, and he accepts his fate (as well as the mistakes of others). I like how Jianyu's past is hinted at without being directly stated, as it leaves a bit of mystery for the player to unravel. It was also interesting seeing how the choices leading up to the final decision heavily influenced some of the dialogue in one of the endings - whether you learn about Jianyu's child, to give him the opportunity to be a good father in the living world.

Although the game was short (being an O2A2 entry), I was very invested in Jianyu's character by the end of the game! I hope that he is able to be a good father! (As I choose the ending in which he lives to be my ending, haha!)

Really good work, azure! :)

Thank you for playing this game, Chap! I want to leave it as an open-ending one but I guess a deeper dive into Jianyu's character would be a nice side story of its own as well!

I might do an anthology about the same setting about how different people cope with afterlife and purgatory sometime in the future so look forward to it! ^^

Really enjoyed your game; the art looked great and the story interesting. I liked your take on the journey to the afterlife; I'm curious if the bus always places people who are connected to each other in life together, or if it was just coincidence and the fact they died around the same time.

Good job on the jam!

Thank you for playing!!! I am so glad you enjoyed it. I plan to make several short stories about it and those who died closest to each other (either in time or place) will get seated near each other so there can be all sorts of encounters!!!

Cool art, great GUI, lovely atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed it (as both a fellow enjoyer of the Purgatory subject matter and a VN fan)! :D <3 Well done!

Thank you so much for playing and ahhh I squealed a bit when I realized it's you who played my game!!! ><

Of course! :) Oh really?! Well I’m honored to hear that!! ;_; <3 lmao

I didn't see the plot twist coming! It was really a good game!
And I agree with G.C.Katz, I didn't notice at first but bisexual afterlife looks very cool xD

Great art, especially the use of color (the afterlife is bisexual!) I liked the story, and really liked the big reveal. You never know when your time is...

I loved the ambiance of the game!! The art really matched with the GUI to offer a mysterious dream-like experience!! And of course, I cannot NOT mention the plot??? THE PLOT!!!!! The plot TWIST!!!!!!!! Aaaaaah!!!!! Such a short entry, and yet, you managed to convey such a well-paced story!!! Congrats, Azure!!

Thank you so much!!! I wonder what everyone chose as the true ending x3

Gorgeous work as always!!!

Thank you!!!

Oh my!! What an experience! Makes me wonder where does the bus go. Also, what a fate between both of them... ;_;

Congrats for the release!

Thank you! There is no clear canonical ending for this, so you choose your own canon ^^

Love the atmosphere and the moving background!

Also, that choice is tough...

Thank you for playing! Glad you enjoyed it ^^
